I was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (PA) at St. Joseph's hospital. I am the oldest of four children; Trish, Tim, and David. My Mom and Dad were married on December 1, 1962 and a little less than two years I was born. Mom was told that I would originally be born on September 10th but I was a stubborn little one. I wasn't born until October 16th. And I just love the fall.
We lived in many places as I grew up. Of course there was Pittsburgh then it was off to Gary, Indiana where Dad got a job in Chicago, Illinois. We had our first dog here. The dog was a pure breed beagle and it was black and brown which was rare back in the 1960s. Then we moved back to the Pittsburgh area and lived in Irwin, PA, it was there that we got our first mutt. The mutt was nuts and that is all I really remember about this particular dog. I believe it was here that my Dad started to work for the S. S. Kresge Corporation (Kmart & Jupiter were other stores). Then it was off to Erie, PA where David would be born and I would start school. We got to skate on Lake Erie when it froze while we lived there.
Our next stop would be Buffalo, New York. While we lived here we visited both sides of the Niagara Falls. While there we had a Bassett Hound. We also lived in the flight path of the Buffalo Airport (Mom said it was in the area where that plane went down in the winter of 2010-2011). We had big snowfalls but still had to go to school. It was a great time. We then moved to North Kingston, Rhode Island (RI). We lived in two areas. One was by a golf course where we wold go for sledding and ice skating. The other place we lived was near the Air Naval Base called Quonset Point. It was really cool because we could watch air shows. After we live here for a couple of years (yes two) we moved back to Pittsburgh. There we lived in a three story house. It was great but I still had to share a bedroom with my sister and the boys also shared their room. The thing was there were about four empty rooms that were not being uses. But that will be discussed elsewhere with some other things.
That is when Dad got transferred to Charleston, West Virginia (WV). We lived in Cross Lanes, WV. It would be the first time we lived in town houses. We had a playground right behind us and a fire stations was right across the street from us. That fire whistle was loud. Daddy was then transferred to Chambersburg, PA. There we lived in two houses. One was a townhouse (brand spanking new) and the other was a farm house. I will tell you more about these houses later. We lived there for four years. It was awesome because it was the first time since our second Pittsburgh tour.
Daddy was transferred to Philadelphia, PA (land of Liberty and the Liberty Bell). Mom and Dad did not want us to grow up in the city so the bought a house for the first time. It would be our home for many, many years. This is the place where I would graduate from Abington Senior High School. I would then move to Laurel, Delaware (DE) but I would not live there for long. Daddy was diagnosed with Lung Cancer in 1995. I would move back to the house so I didn't have to travel back and forth every week.
After my brother Tim got married, Mom sold him the house and I had to move out. My last move was to my current residence in Glenside, PA. This is a few miles from the original house. I will tell you more about what happened later. But this is the extent of the places I lived and a brief introduction.
